When we examine the horoscopes of people who pride themselves on being practical, pragmatic and realistic, we usually find the influence of Earth signs to be significant, as is the case with James Randi. These traits are well represented by the sign Virgo and it is interesting to see that his birth sign is Virgo. In addition, his moon is in Capricorn; another Earth sign.

James Randi has a reputation as a fighter which would lead us to expect a strong representation of planets in fire signs or planets in conflict with each other. We find this type of structure in James Randi’s horoscope, and to such a degree that a warning sign, “Don’t mess with this guy,” should be posted near him.

The combination of fire and earth in his horoscope make him a tough, redoubtable fighter. A run-in with James Randi, astrologically speaking, is akin to running into a tank; very tough with the capacity to do explosive harm – especially to misguided, or misguiding, people.

We look at the planet Saturn to assess the degree of skepticism in a horoscope. We look to see what supports it and what activates it. In the horoscope of James Randi we find that Saturn is strongly supported and strongly aggravated; it’s a force of nature. Wispy ideals and vague notions will quickly evaporate before his negatory gaze.

Interestingly a read of his horoscope suggests a strong focus on helping people see through harmful or delusionary beliefs. His horoscope actually implies that this could easily become a well-intentioned crusade.

In terms of performing magic, unravelling magical tricks, and replicating the alleged tricks of others, he is very adept; according to his horoscope and the very positive connection between Mars, Uranus and Saturn. These three planets relate to the ability to do things, with technical insight and attention to detail. He could probably be an engineer in his spare time.
